satellite phone service Satellite phone services are trying to get in on the ground floor (so to speak) of the Satellite telecommunications industry, so as to reap the same type of benefits that the cellular industry is currently experiencing. By the year 2006, the Global Mobile Personal Communication Service (GMPCS) predicts that the mobile communications market will reach over $47 billion. Satellite phones are seeing more prevalence around the world as new companies enter into the market, and satellite / cellular phone combinations represent the gradual shift in telecommunications towards total worldwide mobile coverage.
